The weekend is extended for the May Bank holiday. Many people have the day off today and are continuing celebrating the various May activities that occur at the beginning of the month. Or, those who are celebrating the weekend festivals around the country may be travelling back home. Regardless, this day is an ideal time to set off some sky lanterns just for fun. Celebrate spring, enjoy watching a sporting event or simply launch a few sky lanterns for fun. It is easy to do and enjoyable.
How to Use Sky Lanterns
If you are considering using sky lanterns, you want to understand exactly how to use them and to use them safely. To set them up all you need to do is remove them from their individually wrapped packaging. Make sure the fuel cell is attached properly per the instructions. If you want to personalize them, do so before setting them off. Then all you need to do is light the fuel cell and release them into the sky. However, there are some precautions you should take to ensure the sky lanterns are used as safely as possible. Make sure you only use them in areas that are free from obstruction and do not use them during inclement weather, including during heavy winds. You can read more at our FAQ section found at http://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/faq/info_4.html.
Personalize the Sky Lanterns to Maximize the Fun!
Traditionally, sky lanterns were used to offer up prayers to the gods. The thought was that as they rise in the sky they will become closer to the heavens and the odds of the gods hearing them will improve. While you may not believe this, you can still offer up wishes or use sky lanterns as symbols of good luck. The best way to do this is to personalize the sky lanterns. Use a sharpie marker and write a message, prayer or wish on the lantern. Some ideas for sky lantern messages and wishes include:
· Wishing for a good day or week at work · Good health for you and your family · Additional prosperity · The ability to get everything done · To get the person you are interested in to notice you
Whatever your wish, write it down and set the sky lanterns free. The types of wishes or messages you can write on the sky lanterns are limited only by your imagination. You can even purchase sharpie markers directly from us athttp://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/lantern-accessories/permanent-marker-pens/prod_22.html.
Which Sky Lanterns Should you Use?
If you are planning on sending off some sky lanterns on this bank holiday, you can choose from a number of different types and colours. There are traditional sky lanterns available in white. Or you can get cylindrical shaped lanterns. Large and giant sky lanterns are ideal to spice it up. You can even use coloured ones in red, yellow, orange, blue and pink. Mix and match them for the perfect combination to make the sky look festive and beautiful. You can even use eco lanterns on this bank holiday and have them degrade even faster than the traditional lanterns so they are environmentally friendly.
