In the news lately there have been reports of how sky lanterns or Chinese lanterns pose a risk to livestock. Unfortunately, there has been quite the outcry from those who reside in rural areas. They claim that, although the paper lantern disintegrates and degrades quickly once exposed to the elements, there is left behind a small piece of metal that does not degrade as quickly. This piece of metal poses a risk to livestock that may come across it and eat it. It can be a problem if it is digested and may cause a choking hazard. However, with eco friendly EcoLanterns, this is no longer an issue.
What are EcoLanterns?
EcoLanterns are a relatively new product on the market designed specifically to address the issue of the small piece of metal that is in most other types of Chinese Hanging Lanterns . EcoLanterns, such as the ones found athttp://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/eco-lanterns/eco-lanterns-no-wire-/prod_33.html have all the same durability and functionality of the traditional Chinese sky lanterns. However, they contain no wire at all. Because of this, the sky lanterns will degrade at a much faster rate. When the fuel cell goes out and the Chinese lantern floats to the ground it will not pose a risk to livestock. Since being exposed to the elements the entire sky lantern will degrade very quickly and there will be no trace that t ever existed.
Celebrate in Eco Friendly fashion
Eco Lanterns can be used for any type of celebration just like any of the other traditional sky lanterns, coloured Chinese Hanging Lanterns or giant Chinese lanterns. However, with wedding season coming up, one of the most traditional uses for these sky lanterns is for use at a wedding celebration. The bride and groom set off sky lanterns and incorporate this into the ceremony and celebration. If you are planning a wedding soon, consider using EcoLanterns for an eco friendly way to honour your wedding. We even carry a special wedding package found athttp://www.nightskylanterns.co.uk/eco-lanterns/eco-wedding-pack/prod_56.html.
A package to suit all sizes of gathering
There are three different sized packages, suitable for any size wedding. The bronze package comes with 50 sly lanterns, suitable for up to 100 people. The Silver package includes 100 Chinese Hanging Lanterns for up to 200 people, gold package 150 Chinese lanterns to accommodate up to 300 people and finally, the platinum package with 200 Chinese sky lanterns, perfect for up to 400 people. All lanterns are available in the traditional white, ideal for wedding celebrations and all of them are environmentally friendly and contain no wire. They will float in the air for up to 20 minutes and are a perfect end to a wedding celebration or any celebration.
EcoLanterns are the newest item available and were designed to answer the request for a more environmentally friendly design. While all sky lanterns are biodegradable, the EcoLanterns will be untraceable even faster. Because they contain no wire, they pose zero risk to any livestock that may be in the area and will degrade quickly, leaving no trace they were ever there in the first place.
