With an entire page devoted to Chinese sky lanterns, located here: chinese lanterns, we thought we take a moment to talk about all things traditional Chinese lanterns. The floating lantern industry would not be here today if it wasn’t for the innovation of the ancient Chinese some two-thousand years ago. With their innovation, the only thing done since has been refinements to the lanterns; some of which happened years ago, including the change to paraffin based fuel cells while others, such as our exclusive wire-free design, have happened far more recently. With these innovations, Chinese Hanging Lanterns are better than ever and their use has exploded in the UK.
Chinese Lantern Types
The Chinese lantern comes in a couple different varieties. The first is the traditional Chinese lantern. These are as close to the original design as NightSkyLanterns.co.uk sells. Their shape is somewhat square and in that regard is virtually identical. Upgrades include a wire-free design making them eco friendly and specially treated paper that is fire resistant to assure safe launches and long flights. Available in the most traditional white colour as well as more modern colours that are vibrant right out of the package and even more so when the fuel cell is lit, traditional Chinese lanterns are well represented. From there, there are the cylindrical Chinese lantern which are a little twist on the original design. These lanterns give the launcher more space to work with in terms of writing messages on the sides of the lanterns and are available both in white and coloured varieties.
The final type of Chinese lantern style are our fun and festive Novelty Chinese lanterns. These lanterns range from sweet romantic lanterns to absolutely silly floating lantern styles. For love and romance, the Hearth-shaped sky lanterns are a big hit year round and for some reason or another even more so around February each year. For fun, our football and smiley face lanterns are always a big hit and our new Pumpkin lantern (featured later this week) is sure to be a hit next month.
Other Chinese Lantern Products
On top of Chinese sky lanterns, NightSkyLantern.co.uk also stocks Chinese water lanterns. These stunning Chinese Hanging Lanterns are designed to float or can be set on land and with the included tea candle, will illuminate any surface. They are a beautiful way to dress up a back yard for a party or an entire evening wedding reception. Available in two styles, there is a Chinese water lantern for anyone.
Other Chinese lantern products include the Chinese lantern pack. This includes an assortment of Chinese lanterns as well as accessories to make the party more fun. Most of the packs include disposable LED Tea Lights so there is no need to go find one elsewhere. Many will include garden candles, glowsticks from our partner site and ice fountains as well. With this much fun in a box, a Chinese lantern party pack, available here, is an excellent choice. This entry was posted on Monday, September 13th, 2010 at 4:54 PM and is filed under General News.
