Each Traditional Sky Lantern is built by hand so the measures may vary slightly. The lantern size when unfolded is 65cm-26In height and 40cm-16In wide in oval shape. Each bag contains: 1 x Chinese Sky Lantern Pre-assembled with cardboard fuel cell

Traditional Sky Lanterns are handcrafted using rice paper treated with a retardant which avoids catching fire like a page of newspaper. Each lantern is pre-assembled, individually wrapped in transparent OPP bag. The fuel cell is protected by a paper to prevent loss of combustible and pre-attached to the bamboo ring with a fireproof rope. All materials are 100% biodegradable.
When all combustible has burned out in the compressed cardboard fuel cell, the lanterns will gently descending back to earth. The delicate paper will break down in few days after landing back on earth and mostly eaten by snails and slugs. The remaining bamboo ring will biodegrade as fast as an Oak leaf or any tree stick. Those lanterns which are picked soon after landing can be disposed in the compost or recycled according to the local Council directives. Traditional Sky lanterns as well as the Supreme and Premium Sky lanterns do not contain any toxic substances or metal wire.

Traditional Sky Lanterns

Traditional Sky Lanterns unfolded and laid flat. Using a dry-marker with a square head a message or a wish can be written on the paper. Be careful not to rip the delicate paper

The fuel cell is covered with protective paper. Please remove the protective paper before igniting the fuel cell.

Lit two opposite corners of the cardboard with a lighter. Wait till you feel that the lanterns is pulling up and gently release the pressure of your fingers from the bamboo ring and the lanterns will start flying in to the night sky. Please read the instruction provided on the packaging prior to use it.

We would like to highlight that Chinese sky lanterns like those used in this video are made with metal wire to hold the fuel cell to the bamboo ring.
Please consider the possibility to use only sky lanterns made without metal wire.
